This wine is made from 100% Malbec, harvested in March and macerated and fermented in stainless steel. It was then aged in oak, 33% new and the rest one and two year for 15 months.
Tasting Notes: Deep violet-red in color; with dense tears that dye the glass. Fine jammy fruit on the nose balanced with elegant oak give way to a delicious mouthful of concentrated complex fruit that lingers on and on. This wine will evolve deliciously over many years.
The 2008 Malbec (100%) spent 15 months in 33% new French oak. Cedar, tobacco, spice box, lavender, and black cherry aromas set the stage for an incipiently complex, velvety-textured, plush, full-bodied Malbec that will provide pleasure for another 5-6 years. - 91 point rating; Robert Parker`s The Wine Advocate
Silver Medal (best in class, single vineyard), 2010 International Wine & Spirits Competition: "Opaque inky purple red. The nose reveals an intense display of currants, dried thyme, mulberries, softly cooked fruits and smoked meat with an exotic overlay of clove and oriental spices. Beautifully rich and supple for such a strong wine, broad ripe flavours with some chewiness in the tannins and great length. This should have the ability to age very well. - Judges' Panel Tasting Notes, 2010 IWSC
